Team Divisions

Football and Cheerleading Eligibility

Football players are assigned to teams based on age and weight. Cheerleaders are assigned based on age. Final decisions on team placement are the decision of the State College Lions in accordance with JVFL policies and procedures.

Tackle Division

Midget Football and Cheerleading (10-11-12 Year Olds)

Age Requirements: The child must have turned 10, but not have turned 13 before September 1st.
Weight Restrictions: Midget Football players cannot weigh more than 140 pounds. After the first game, the weight limit will increase 1 pound per week.
Exceptions: Any 10 year old under the weight of 65 pounds may play Pee-Wee Football. However, once the player is rostered at the Pee-Wee Level, they will remain a Pee-Wee until the conclusion of the season.

Pee-Wee Football and Cheerleading (7-8-9 Year Olds)

Age Requirements: The child must have turned 7, but not have turned 10 before September 1st.
Weight Restrictions: Pee Wee Football players cannot weigh more than 110 pounds.
Exceptions: Any 7 year old over the weight of 110 pounds may play Midget Football. However, once the player is rostered at the Midget Level, they will remain a Midget until the conclusion of the season

Flag Division

Flag Football and Cheerleading (5-6 Year Olds)

Age Requirements: The child is at least 5 years of age by December 31st, but not have turned 7 before September 1st.
Weight Restrictions: None.
Exceptions: None.
